Z Arts & Crafts [Forms: Beg 1 - Form 2]
Students will create their own art under the direction of our art teacher. Price includes all materials.
This is a general outline of the classes:
August: Introduction and use of Graphite and White Chalk on toned paper. Follow along drawings.
September/October: (Halloween and Diwali)
Students will engage in hands-on art activities associated with the two holidays. Many of these activities will involve learning of color through the use of painting and crafting. Such activities include: salt dough molding, coloring rice for a rangoli, paper mache, and more.
November/December: (Thanksgiving and Christmas)
Students will learn, one-on-one, how to safely use a hot glue gun, and assist with holiday decorations and crafts necessary for the holiday performance. Fun sensory activities will include: instant polymer snow, burlap and printing, and soap making.
January/February: (Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year)
Continuing with sensory and fine motor skills, students will apply their knowledge of crafts with paper layer art, paper popup art, finger paints, and more. Such projects include: popup koi fish, finger painted cherry blossoms, paper fortune cookies, and a Lunar New Year drum.
March/April: (Spring Auction)
With Spring approaching, art activities will mellow out into abstract, bright and color paintings. Students will learn how to craft spring-like flowers using watercolors and coffee filters, as well as use beautiful scrap paper to create decorative spring pieces. Students will also participate in follow-along oil pastel paintings.
May/June: (Mother's Day/Parent's Day)
Students will create special art dedicated to mom for her special day. The project can vary from a painting to salt dough ornaments, or a craft specially made for mom. Art activities up until the end of the year will float between free crafts, watercolor paintings, and pop art.
